CSF Mission and Organization
Community Sailing of Fairfield, operated by its members, under the auspices of the Fairfield Parks and Recreation Department, is based at the Town Dock in beautiful Southport Harbor.
The CSF mission is to provide affordable access to the Long Island Sound and an inclusive community with a shared enthusiasm for boating and good fellowship. Members help further our mission by actively volunteering, sharing boating knowledge and promoting boating safety.
This sailing program makes available to its members, two fixed keel, family-size Ideal 18’ daysailers, four two man kayaks and four one man kayaks. Household memberships are available to anyone over the age of 18.
The annual fees for a household are $425 (full week), $275, (weekday only), and a 10% discount for seniors. This entitles any family member over the age of 18, who has passed our skills testing, to reserve unlimited two-hour sailing or kayak slots from May through October. Separate Kayak only membership is available for $275.
Skippers must be in possession of a "Connecticut Safe Boating Certificate" and pass a test to demonstrate basic sailing and water safety skills.

CSF is not a sailing school. Members are expected to have some sailing and kayaking experience before joining. Beginning sailors can check Longshore Sailing School in Westport for lessons.
